Imagine you are diagnosed with cancer...any cancer, and you live in Tarrant or a surrounding county...as you are navigating the reality of this insidious disease you try to rely on friends and family to drive and support you as you begin your treatment. Unfortunately, it's not always possible for your caregiver to adjust their schedule to accommodate your treatment program. You've always worked hard to pay your bills but now you need to find transportation to a medical facility in Fort Worth plus possible lodging throughout your treatment regime.
How can you help these underserved, hardworking men and women? You can help through the American Cancer Society's access to care program, which includes our Patient Transportation Grants and Patient Lodging Grants. Both grants provide funding to local health systems, through an application process, partnering with the health systems to deliver the much needed assistance to the underserved cancer patients.
Tim Carter, our restricted gifts chair, is hoping to raise $75,000 to fund this program. This will help 100 patients for 400 nights of lodging and allow 200 patients to receive transportation services to treatment facilities in Tarrant County.
Can we count on your help? If you are attending Cowtown Ball, we will have a paddle raise for attendees to pledge funds. You can go ahead today and make your donation, whether you are attending the Ball or not, cancer patients are counting on your support.
Thank you for your support!
Donations are 100% tax deductible.

For more than 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s.
